Swatch It Out | Random Polishes #21

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

It's finally time for a new Swatch It Out, oh yeah!  If you aren't familiar with this series, I pick seven random polishes from my collection to swatch and review here and on my youtube channel
I see which ones are worth keeping and which ones just need to retire.  So, let's just get to swatching!

[SPOILER ALERT!: this blog post is uploaded a day before the video is going live on my youtube channel.  If you don't want to have the polishes revealed until the video is live, please wait until tomorrow to read.  Thank you!!!]

UNT - VE075

I got this as a freebie when I ordered the peel off base coat.  This is my first time trying a polish from this brand.

I was pleasantly surprised at the formula.  While a bit streaky, the consistency was really good.

As for the hex glitters in the polish, I could have done without them.  Even after shaking the polish several times, it was near impossible to get any on the brush.

Rainbow Honey - Diamond Weapon

I ordered this indie polish directly from the brand's website.  It was from a collection inspired by the older Final Fantasy games.  So, I knew I had to have it.

The formula is amazing.  I honestly couldn't say one bad thing about it.  I also love the tiny gold shimmer throughout the gray base.  My camera really doesn't do it justice at all.

L'Oreal - Jet Set to Paris

I got this polish in an awesome friend mail as a gift.  I'm always excited to try L'Oreal polishes as they are surprisingly difficult to find in my area.

The formula was okay, but I'm not a fan of the brush.  It is very hard and squared off on the end.  It makes it very difficult if you have any amount of cuticle or rounded nail beds.

Revlon - Golden Confetti

Revlon has some fun toppers in their line and this one is no exception.  The holo on that glitter just pops!

The formula is great, and the glitter is very easy to apply.  I got all the glitter in the picture after one coat without even properly shaking the bottle.

Revlon Color Stay - Stormy Night

This polish is one of my favorites in my whole polish collection.

The formula is impeccable.  The coverage is brilliant.  The brush is even amazing!

This polish is seriously just a pleasure to put on the nail.  There is no fuss other than waiting for it to dry.

Insert rant here on how Revlon should get rid of the Gel Envy line and bring this line back.  Just saying.

China Glaze - Loco-Motive

I had picked this polish up at Sally Beauty a million years ago in the clearance bin, but I had yet to swatch it.

I'm pleasantly surprised by it.  The glitter comes out very easily, and it works really great on top of the brown. It's a really nice topper for fall time.

Zoya - Nyx

I usually hate textured polishes, but this Pixiedust glitter makes me feel all the right things.

The formula is great, and the color is so unique.  It is so sparkly and cool toned: perfect for the colder months.  Zoya hit it out of the park with this one!

Additional Notes:

My Favorites:  Diamond Weapon, Stormy Night, Nyx

Ones to Retire/Pass On:  Jet Set to Paris, VE075

Overall, I didn't have any clear duds in this bunch which is always refreshing.  It's no fun to spend hours filming and taking pictures of duds.
