Swatch It Out: Random Polishes #18 | Nail Polish Swatches

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

It's finally that time once again where I take 7 random polishes out of my ridiculously large nail polish collection and live swatch them for y'all, as well as, take still pictures.

Pictures, commentary, and live swatch video below.  Let's swatch it out!

Sinful Colors - Tantalize

I picked this polish up for about $2.00 at either Walgreen's or Big Lots.  Walgreens does put this brand on sale a couple times a year for $0.99.

I wasn't expected much with this polish as I don't have the best luck with most Sinful Colors ones that I've tried.

I was pleasantly surprised.  The formula was great and covered in two coats.  Even though it has a metallic finish, it didn't emphasize my cracks and bumps that my problem nails forever have.  It just went on like a dream.

Maybelline - Emerald City

I picked this one up at CVS a long time ago.

The formula is decent, and it goes on without too much trouble.  This polish is more sentimental for me than anything else.  This is one of the polishes that got me back into this obsession awhile back.  So, I'll always look to it fondly.  It does look good over a variety of colors, though.

Rimmel - BritPop

I picked this one up at CVS awhile back.  Rimmel is a brand that is very hard to find in my area.  So, I was happy to pick this up when I found it.

The polish is darker than it appears in the photo.

The formula is very good.  All the polish that I've tried in this line have been pretty good.  I usually get great wear out of these as well.

My main negative with these Salon Pro polishes is the brush and wand.  The wand is short and fat, making it difficult to maneuver. The brush is short and wide which is not too good for my small nails.

Sally Hansen - Snow Blast (Crackle Overcoat)

I picked this up at Kmart awhile back on clearance.

Do y'all remember when everyone was nuts over crackle polishes? Haha! Where'd that craze go?

This polish does exactly what it's supposed to do--a crackle effect when placeed over an other polish.

I keep this around because it makes for a quick and easy accent nail.

Formula X by Sephora - Intoxicated

I picked this one up for about $2 at Big Lots awhile back.

The formula is a good consistency, but it is quite sheer.  If this is your type of style, then this would be a great polish for you.  I just think the color is butt ugly on me.  It's like a highlighter got sick and barfed on me.  Haha!

Zoya - Aurora

I picked this polish up from the brand's website during a promotion.

I can say nothing but praises for this bottle of gorgeousness.  The formula is amazing and covers to complete opacity in 1-2 coats.  The wear is also decent, especially for a glitter polish.  I got about 4-5 days even with my job which is insanely hard on my nails.

LA Colors - Date Night (Gel Extreme)

I picked this polish up at Family Dollar for $2.

This polish appears lighter in the photo than it does in person.

I'm very impressed with these Extreme Gel line polishes.  I didn't expect them to be any different than the regular line, and I was wrong.  The brushes are great, the formula is amazing, and the wear time is excellent.  I usually get almost a week until I see any chipping.

I love it when I get pleasantly surprised.

Final Thoughts:

Favorite: Aurora

Retiree: Intoxicated

Aurora is just purple galaxy fabulousness in a bottle.  Intoxicated is a color that is just not visually appealing to me, and it stained the fool out of my nails and cuticles.

This is not sponsored in any way.  I wasn't paid to show any of these polishes nor was I sent any of these polishes for free.  I bought them all with my own money.
