Review: November Empties

I bring you honest reviews of all the products I used up this month!

Skin Care

St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub

I have been a user of St. Ives apricot scrub for years.  I love it.  It is one of the best gentle exfoliators out there, especially for the price!

So, when I saw this one I just had to try it out.  Anything that has even a miniscule chance of getting rid of my nose black heads, I'm all about.

I actually HATED it the first few times I used it.  Then, I started putting it all over my face, letting it set, and then gently scrubbing.  It worked great!  I used it once or twice a week with great results.  I have a couple already waiting in my stash.  So, I look forward to using it again.

I will say that it didn't do anything for my black heads at all, but it did improve the tone and texture of this old face.  :)

Burt's Bees Radiance Toner with Royal Jelly

I got this toner by chance.  Burt's Bees was doing a $15 grab bag at the start of this year, and this was one of the products included in that.

I have really dry skin and have to be really careful when choosing a toner to use.  This one is excellent.  It didn't dry my skin at all.  It made my face absorb my moisturizer better.  I got nothing but love for this stuff.  I have one more bottle in my stash, and I can't wait to use it.

Body Products

Nivea Touch of Happiness Body Wash in Orange Blossom & Bamboo Essence

I was excited to pick this up when it hit my buy price.  Nivea has great lotions and lip products.

I have to say that this was a bit of a dud, though.  I expected much more from this company.  It was okay.  It wasn't drying, but it wasn't really hydrating.

Also, I couldn't stand the scent.  It was like you took an old orange and mixed it with milk or something.  It wasn't gag worthy, but I definitely would never purchase this particular scent again.  If it hit my buy price, I would buy it again.  It is just nothing special.

Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture Body Creme in Amber Blush and Pink Chiffon

I go through about 2 of this suckers every month.  #dryskinproblems  LOL

I like Amber Blush the first couple of times that I used it, but then I was over it.  I thought the note of musk in it was too much.  It's the same story with the Pink Chiffon.  Bath & Body Works seems to love that strong perfumey musk scent a lot.

I would purchase this product again, but I wouldn't in these particular scents.

Eucerin Aquaphor Lotion

This stuff is amazing!  If you have a rash, dry irritated skin, or just about anything, this is the stuff to use.  It is more like a deep skin treatment than a lotion.

When my hands get severely chapped, this stuff gives me instant relief.  Heck, I have even used it on my pits when they've been rubbed raw by a shirt.  This stuff is magic!

Hair Products

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo

I am so sad about this one!  I received this in my Target Beauty Box, and it retails for $7.99!

I used it 3 times, and I had the same experience: holy white cast and ITCHINESS!  It made my head itch so freakin' bad.  I was in my car with a chopstick looking like I was digging for treasure under my scalp.

I hate to throw stuff away so much!  I just can't find an alternative use for this stuff.  I guess my hair just rejects fancy things.  Ha!

Fortune Cookie Soap Deep Conditioner in Christmas Bonus Scent

The scent was nice.  The result was fabulous hair commercial hair.  The consistency was crap.

By that, I mean that it was difficult to get it from jar to head in the shower.  It came out as an almost solid like a natural lip balm.  I had to take several minutes to warm it up between my hands to get it to a manageable consistency.  It also took the whole thing to do my short, thin, and wimpy hair.

I wouldn't purchase the full size, because there are things out there just as good with half the work.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!  Conditioning Hair Mask

I got this in an Ipsy bag back when I was still subscribed.  It took the whole thing to do my hair once.

Afterwards, my hair didn't feel any different than when I use my regular conditioner.  So, I wasn't impressed and would not buy the full size.

Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield Mouthwash in Spearmint Surge

I am not too particular when it comes to mouthwash, but I did like the flavor of this one particularly well.  I would totally buy again!

Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste

I am not too particular on toothpaste either.  It was great.  It tasted fine, and it didn't irritate my sensitive gums or teeth.  Loved it!

Crest Pro-Health Night Toothpaste

This stuff tastes awful!  Seriously, it tastes like old socks that someone farted on after eating Taco Bell or something.  I am sure it was doing wonderful things to my teeth, but I would never buy the full size.  Gross!  I hope I don't have anymore in my stash.

Other Items

Flinstones Vitamins

This is the multivitamin I take and have been taking since I was a kid.  It is the only one that I have found with iron in it that doesn't make me sick.  I will forever be a flintstones kid.  :)

Zep Commercial Air & Fabric Odor Eliminator

I got this stuff in a PinchMe sample box.  (Back when you could actually ever get samples from there!)

This stuff is like Febreze times 1000!  I absolutely loved it!  If I run into it again for the right price, I am stocking up!

Glade Premium Home Spray in Rosehip & Plumeria

This was the first Glade Premium Room Spray that I have used.  I absolutely loved it!  I think it was even better than the Febreze ones I use all the time.  I will definitely be on the lookout for more of these.  It was seriously great!

Sassy + Chic Glass Nail File

I picked this up at the Dollar Tree a couple of months ago.  It came in a pack with a 4-way nail buffer, and...

It is absolute junk!  It smoothed out down to the glass after one moderate filing.  It was a waste of a dollar.  I hope the newer ones that they came out with are better, because this one was a total disappointment.
