[Please Note:  This was originally posted on my other blog Spake With Twang.  I have since started to move all my nail and beauty posts over to this blog.  That is why the watermark is Spake With Twang and not Sweet Tea and Pretty Polishes.]

I hope everyone is having a super awesome 4th of July today however you choose to celebrate it.

I felt like being festive with my nails.  They didn't turn out are nice as I'd hoped, but that's the learning process I reckon.  Still going to rock them today.

What polishes I used and other details below:

I'm still very much a newbie who is bumbling her way through while trying to learn.  So please be kind, and any pointers and tips are always welcome.  :)

The Polishes that I used, from left to right, are:
  • Maybelline Color Show in Porcelain Party 380
  • Revlon Colorstay in Indigo Night 180
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Red My Lips 470
  • L'Oreal Paris in The Bigger, The Better 603
I bought this Maybelline polish because I had a coupon and I needed a white.  It's...meh.  The Color Show polish is really a crap shoot.  I have about 15 or so in my collection.  Some are amazing. some are duds, and some are meh.  This one has good solid color, but it is streaky are all get out.  I mostly use it for details, dots, and such.  It is great for that instead of using it by itself.

Revlon is discontinuing the Colorstay line which makes me sad, because this polish is an amazing one coater.  (Good news is that the Colorstay line is on clearance at a ton of places.  I actually got this one at Kmart for a quarter.)

The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line keeps impressing me.  This is the 3rd one that I have tried so far, and it is amazing.  It's one coat and a great formula.  (The retail price is about $6 which is way high for drug store, but there are coupons and deals all the time.  I usually get them for $2-3 bucks)

The L'oreal glitter polish is great.  It is a clear base with black and sliver glitter in it.  It was opaque in 3 coats over a clear base coat. (Too bad I covered it mostly up.  D'oh.)
