Dollar Tree Review: Skin Nutritions Skin Care System

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

I decided to try out this 3 step Skin Nutritions skin care system from the Dollar Tree after seeing tons of rave reviews about it.

I had originally wanted to do a 2 week test, because I don't think you can properly review a skin care product from just a couple of applications.

Unfortunately, I only made it until day 5.

Here's why:

Full Review Video
-----
Ingredient lists for each product:

::::Cleanser Ingredients::::

Water, Potassium Myristate, Potassium Palmitate, Glycerin, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Laurate, Peg-150 Distearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Beewax, Cetearyl Alcohol, Potassium Behenate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Peg-3 Distearate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Cholesteryl Hydroxystearate, Trisodium Edta, Fragrance, Disodium Edta, Dmdm Hydantoin

::::Toner Ingredients::::

Final Thoughts:

I honestly don't recommend this stuff to anyone.  I honestly would not put it on my dog.  I still have no idea how it got such amazing reviews.

That's not for me to know, but what I do know is...this is the worst skin care I have ever used.  Whether it is just a dollar not, it is a waste of money.

If you have dry or sensitive skin, walk a circle around it in the store lest you go through the same reactions I did when I tested it.

Disclaimer:  I am not a dermatologist.  I do not have the all the answers in the universe.  I am just a girl who loves some good skin care.  These are my opinions and my experience with these products.  Nothing more or less.

Review: November Empties

Monday, December 1, 2014

I bring you honest reviews of all the products I used up this month!

Skin Care

St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub

I have been a user of St. Ives apricot scrub for years.  I love it.  It is one of the best gentle exfoliators out there, especially for the price!

So, when I saw this one I just had to try it out.  Anything that has even a miniscule chance of getting rid of my nose black heads, I'm all about.

I actually HATED it the first few times I used it.  Then, I started putting it all over my face, letting it set, and then gently scrubbing.  It worked great!  I used it once or twice a week with great results.  I have a couple already waiting in my stash.  So, I look forward to using it again.

I will say that it didn't do anything for my black heads at all, but it did improve the tone and texture of this old face.  :)

Burt's Bees Radiance Toner with Royal Jelly

I got this toner by chance.  Burt's Bees was doing a $15 grab bag at the start of this year, and this was one of the products included in that.

I have really dry skin and have to be really careful when choosing a toner to use.  This one is excellent.  It didn't dry my skin at all.  It made my face absorb my moisturizer better.  I got nothing but love for this stuff.  I have one more bottle in my stash, and I can't wait to use it.

Body Products

Nivea Touch of Happiness Body Wash in Orange Blossom & Bamboo Essence

I was excited to pick this up when it hit my buy price.  Nivea has great lotions and lip products.

I have to say that this was a bit of a dud, though.  I expected much more from this company.  It was okay.  It wasn't drying, but it wasn't really hydrating.

Also, I couldn't stand the scent.  It was like you took an old orange and mixed it with milk or something.  It wasn't gag worthy, but I definitely would never purchase this particular scent again.  If it hit my buy price, I would buy it again.  It is just nothing special.

Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture Body Creme in Amber Blush and Pink Chiffon

I go through about 2 of this suckers every month.  #dryskinproblems  LOL

I like Amber Blush the first couple of times that I used it, but then I was over it.  I thought the note of musk in it was too much.  It's the same story with the Pink Chiffon.  Bath & Body Works seems to love that strong perfumey musk scent a lot.

I would purchase this product again, but I wouldn't in these particular scents.

Eucerin Aquaphor Lotion

This stuff is amazing!  If you have a rash, dry irritated skin, or just about anything, this is the stuff to use.  It is more like a deep skin treatment than a lotion.

When my hands get severely chapped, this stuff gives me instant relief.  Heck, I have even used it on my pits when they've been rubbed raw by a shirt.  This stuff is magic!

Hair Products

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo

I am so sad about this one!  I received this in my Target Beauty Box, and it retails for $7.99!

I used it 3 times, and I had the same experience: holy white cast and ITCHINESS!  It made my head itch so freakin' bad.  I was in my car with a chopstick looking like I was digging for treasure under my scalp.

I hate to throw stuff away so much!  I just can't find an alternative use for this stuff.  I guess my hair just rejects fancy things.  Ha!

Fortune Cookie Soap Deep Conditioner in Christmas Bonus Scent

The scent was nice.  The result was fabulous hair commercial hair.  The consistency was crap.

By that, I mean that it was difficult to get it from jar to head in the shower.  It came out as an almost solid like a natural lip balm.  I had to take several minutes to warm it up between my hands to get it to a manageable consistency.  It also took the whole thing to do my short, thin, and wimpy hair.

I wouldn't purchase the full size, because there are things out there just as good with half the work.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!  Conditioning Hair Mask

I got this in an Ipsy bag back when I was still subscribed.  It took the whole thing to do my hair once.

Afterwards, my hair didn't feel any different than when I use my regular conditioner.  So, I wasn't impressed and would not buy the full size.

Dental

Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield Mouthwash in Spearmint Surge

I am not too particular when it comes to mouthwash, but I did like the flavor of this one particularly well.  I would totally buy again!

Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste

I am not too particular on toothpaste either.  It was great.  It tasted fine, and it didn't irritate my sensitive gums or teeth.  Loved it!

Crest Pro-Health Night Toothpaste

This stuff tastes awful!  Seriously, it tastes like old socks that someone farted on after eating Taco Bell or something.  I am sure it was doing wonderful things to my teeth, but I would never buy the full size.  Gross!  I hope I don't have anymore in my stash.

Other Items

Flinstones Vitamins

This is the multivitamin I take and have been taking since I was a kid.  It is the only one that I have found with iron in it that doesn't make me sick.  I will forever be a flintstones kid.  :)

Zep Commercial Air & Fabric Odor Eliminator

I got this stuff in a PinchMe sample box.  (Back when you could actually ever get samples from there!)

This stuff is like Febreze times 1000!  I absolutely loved it!  If I run into it again for the right price, I am stocking up!

Glade Premium Home Spray in Rosehip & Plumeria

This was the first Glade Premium Room Spray that I have used.  I absolutely loved it!  I think it was even better than the Febreze ones I use all the time.  I will definitely be on the lookout for more of these.  It was seriously great!

Sassy + Chic Glass Nail File

I picked this up at the Dollar Tree a couple of months ago.  It came in a pack with a 4-way nail buffer, and...

It is absolute junk!  It smoothed out down to the glass after one moderate filing.  It was a waste of a dollar.  I hope the newer ones that they came out with are better, because this one was a total disappointment.

Nails of the Day: Unicorn Glitter Water Marble

Sunday, November 30, 2014

Here's a design I did a few weeks ago that I forgot to post.  (Bad blogger!)

Excuse the tip chip on my middle finger.  I couldn't take the pic until about day 2 of the mani.

Polishes Used:

Yellow: Sinful Colors in Unicorn

This is a nice happy yellow.  It goes on smooth and it opaque in 2 to 3 coats.  It is not the best formula for water marbling.  If you use it to marble, definitely paint your nail white beforehand.

I got this lovely polish from a dear friend of mine.  (Hurricane Hetta)

Pink: Wet n Wild Megalast in Beat of a Generation

This is a great pink from the WnW limited edition Summer collection this past year.  It is opaque in 1-2 coats and does great for water marbling.

I got this at Kmart for $1.99 before coupon.

Glitter: Sephora by OPI in Sparktacular!

I just love this topper.  It is like party in a bottle and very little fishing is required.

I got this at Big Lots for $1.80.

Dollar Tree Haul: New Glass Nail Files

Thursday, November 27, 2014

This is just a little collective Dollar Tree haul from a couple of different trips.

Do I get any extra points for somehow not buying one Christmas item?  Seriously, Dollar Tree is purely a Christmas shop here lately.

Hair & Scalp Dandruff Shampoo
Assured T+ Plus Therapeutic Gel Shampoo

I had never seen these at my Dollar Tree before.  I was so happy I did, though!  My dad only uses dandruff shampoo.  So if these are any count, we will save a butt load of money!  (And I have a huge butt! lol)

Ennce Beauty Body Cream in Rose
Ennce Beauty Body Cream in Neroli & Sweet Orange

Okay, confession time!  I am a bit of a lotion snob, and I have never found a lotion that I didn't think was just complete garbage from the Dollar Tree.  (With the exception of the petroleum jelly, but that's not really a lotion.)

Well, these totally changed that!  They are so awesome especially the Neroli one.  I am shocked!  I have been using them on my hands and they are just great.

If I see them again, I will definitely pick up a back up.  They are really nice.

Microfiber Facial Scrubber 3pk

I thought I would try these out since I had tried the facial brush and it was way too harsh.  Seriously, that was like a brush for cleaning a toilet and not my face.

These are essentially little microfiber cloths.  So, I probably could have just bought a dust rag and had the same thing, but I bought these!  So, I am going to keep an open mind and hope that they are amazing.

Milani Polish in Hot Pink
Revlon Top Speed in Royal

My store is finally getting in some pretty milani polishes!  I swear that we've had nothing but poop green for ages.

Also, I have been seeing people talk about this Royal Polish from revlon so I thought I would give it a shot.  I am kind of taken aback by the condition of the bottle, though.  When I unwrapped the package, there was glue on it, polish, and the label was mostly worn off.  I don't even want to think about it really.

Sassy + Chic Nail Buffer

I needed a nail buffer and have yet to try these.  We shall see and hope.

Glass Nail Files

They had these newer glass files out.  So, I had to pick some up.

I just hope that they are better than the last ones they had that were larger and came with a buffer block.  Those were useless.  Mine smoothed out after one filing.  So, I am hoping that they made these differently.  They are just so cute!

Rhinestone Sheets

Sticky, shiny, gem-like stickers...YES!!!

Air Wick Air Freshener Spray in Enchanted Holiday

This is a freakin' cupcake in a can!

Pedigree Stackerz Dog Treats

I just wanted to pick up some of these.  They aren't as good a deal as it seems.  The ones at my grocery store are 6oz and are $2.50.  These are 3.3oz for a dollar.  It's still a good deal, but not a crazy good one at all.

Nutty Roasted Salted Soybeans

I really like edamame.  So, I thought I would give these a try.  Nope.  I will not be purchasing.  They are really hard to chew and taste kind of burnt.

Fleischmann's Simply Homemade Bread Mix

We almost always bake our own bread.  So, I had to pick this up to try out for a buck!

Verdict:

It mixes up to form a nice dough very easily.  It makes nice looking bread.  The bread is denser and drier than tradition scratch bread.  But...it is freaking salty!  I went and bought a loaf at the store to compare it to.  And...it had twice as much as the store bought.  Wow!

Sugar in the Raw 25 pkts

Not really much I can say about this other than I wish I would quit adding it to my bucket of coffee every morning.

Kitchen Strainer
Sink Strainers

One of my absolute favorite things about the Dollar Tree is that you are able to pick up kitchen essentials for a buck.   I really needed these things and I would have had to pay $2 or more somewhere else.

I am especially happy about the 2pk sink strainer.  I go through so many of those when I make my cat litter.  Whoohoo!

Nails of the Day: Green and Blue Simple Dot Design

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Wow, I have been neglecting this site as of late.  I was going back through my files and taking notes for future posts and ran across some nail pictures that I never posted.

This one is from the end of September, but I still love it!  (My nails were so short compared to now!)

Polishes Used:

BlueRevlon ColorStay in Indigo Night

This is my absolute favorite blue in my collection.  It goes on smooth.  It's opaque in one coat.  It is magic in a bottle.

I picked this polish up at Big Lots for $1.50.

Green: Maybelline ColorShow in Lustrous Lime

I had had this polish in my collection for a while and never looked twice at it until a dear friend of mine on youtube (Scents and Cents) gave me a heads up about how great this stuff wears.

And she was so right!  It has an amazing formula and looks much prettier on the nail than in in the bottle.  I also wore it for almost 10 days with only minimal tip wear.  This one is truly a hidden gem.

I picked this one up at Big Lots for $1.00.

Dollar Tree Haul

Thursday, November 20, 2014

I feel like it has been forever since I've had a Dollar Tree haul!

This is the stuff I picked up in the first half of November.

I found some cute stuff for the fur babies!

Ceramic Pet Bowls (Blue pattern and zebra)

I saw these heavy pet bowls and had to pick them up.  I got a large one and a small one in each of these patterns.  They are much harder for the cats to scoot around.

I will say that you might want to check the patterns, though.  A lot of them were crooked or half gone.

Toy Mice 3 pack

I had received a pack of these in a friend mail package, and my cat went nuts over them.  So, naturally I had to pick up some more.

Paw Print Storage Container

Oh, how I have searched for this thing!  It is so cute, but it is also very functional.  I have it filled to the brim with chewy dog snacks now.  Yay!

Now, for some people food!

Skulls and Bones Candy - on clearance - $0.50

These are kind of like hard sweet tarts.  So good!

Cinnamon Sticks 4oz

I have been searching for these for weeks to do some holiday crafts.  I am so happy to have found them, but now I can't remember what craft I had wanted to do.  Ha!

Sugar in the Raw 25pk

We meet again my dear raw sugar packets.

Pasta Bowls (Progresso and Betty Crocker)

I haven't tried the Betty Crocker one yet, but I really like the Progresso ones.  I have seen a lot of people say that they don't like them.  So, I guess more for me.  Yum!

I got a few health and beauty items as well:

Nola Honey Almond Shower Gel and Lemon Verbena Hand Soap

Oh my goodness, people have been hauling these for weeks on end and singing their praises.  So, I had to pick a couple up when I finally spotted some around here.

So far, I have used the Lemon Verbena hand soap, and it isn't anything special.  It kind of smells like Pledge furniture polish, too.  The price was great for the amount of product, though.  The packaging is also very pretty.

Cotton Swabs 250ct

I really hope these don't suck like the cotton rounds do.

Skin Nutritions Facial System (Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturizer)

This is another one of those things that people have been giving crazy good reviews on for a long time.  I had never seen them at my store until now.  So, I had to pick them up.

I admit that I am a total skin care snob, but I'm they are as good as everyone says they are.  I really hope the toner good, because it's only a buck.  We shall see.  I hope to do a review on youtube of them.

Let's get crafty!

Jingle Bells (large 9pk and small 50pk)

Yep, I bought something holiday related.  I just couldn't pass up those giant bells.

Raffia 3pk ribbon eggs

I bought these to make some gift bows in a future youtube video.  Hopefully, it works out as good as I am seeing it in my head.

Washi Tape in Holiday designs

My wallet can't take much more of this Dollar Tree!  They did have other patterns, but I just couldn't justify buying them all.  I am mowing through it lately putting packages together, though.

Duck Tape EZ Start tape

I actually did need one of these EZ Start dispensers, and they were like $3 at the other store.  So, I got one for a buck and fancy tape.  Oh yeah!

I also got some electronic-type stuff:

Rock and Roll Head Phones

Stocking stuffer for some young members of my family.

USB cable (regular to mini)

I needed one of these and was tickled to death to find it for a buck.  I was ready to pay $3-4 somewhere else.  I hope it works well.

Sunbeam AA alkaline 4pk batteries

I needed batteries, and there were no deals anywhere else.  These will suffice.

Fashion Batteries

Yes!  I found some more crappy batteries adorned with animal print.  I am over the moon for this random unnecessary purchase.

I did actually use the other pack I had, though.  I used them in the LED light strand from DT.  They have clear battery boxes, and it looks so neat.

Jeweled fashion headphones

I just thought that these were so pretty and classy looking.  They are just absolutely perfect for friend mails and stocking stuffers.

And just a few other random things:

Cynthia Rowley Band Aids

I swear!  I wish I had never bought these.  I never need band aids or anything, but the moment I bought these that changed.  I got like 10 cuts and scraped my hand and went through half of the box.  Dang cursed pretty bandages.

Home Store Collapsible Storage Bins

I have hauled ones like these before.  I have all of those filled.  So, I needed some more.

Cute Little Penguin!

This crookedly sewn and pitiful guy just had to come home with me.  Look at him!  He's adorable.

Dollar Tree Haul: Even More Solar Dancers

Saturday, October 25, 2014

I was out in a different town.  So, that meant a different Dollar Tree was there to explore.

Let's just get to the best things first!

Flower Solar Dancers

I haven't seen these before.  Are they new or old?  I'm so confused, because Dollar Tree just rolled out the Halloween ones.

I'm not complaining though.  I'll take these little dancing things all day long.  I have a crap load of windows.  So, keep them coming Dollar Tree.

Next, I got some more office, stationary, and craft stuff:

Laser Tape - 4pk

This just looks plain useful for Christmas.

Washi Tape (Lace and Christmas Design)

Black Lace and Gingerbread Men....wait!

That sounds like the title of a holiday themed romance novel.  I'm already imagining the cover.

Skull Notebook

This cover just looks so awesome.  I am joining in the love for the skull motif, but the notebook and paper itself is pretty crap quality.

Studded Sparkly Pen

It is a rhinestone studded pen in pink and white with a jewel on the clicker top.  Y'all really think I could have passed that up?

Mustache Memo Pads

These are pretty flimsy and overall bad quality.  I got suckered in by the super cute covers.  Curses!

Mod Podge - Gloss

I only picked up matte last time.  So, I picked up a couple gloss.

Onward, to food!

Dry Roasted Peanuts (7.5oz)

Tropical Trail Mix

My dad mows through this stuff.  I can't eat it.  It contains coconut.  :(

Sugar in the Raw (25 pkt)

Veggie Stix

I was so happy that they had more of these.  They are so yummy!

Ice Cream Scoop

I know that it's not ice cream weather, but this thing was cool.  It is squishy on the back.  It is hot pink, too!  Yes!

Old El Paso Rice Bowl (Cheesy Nacho & Chipotle Black Bean & Corn)
Progresso Pasta Bowls (Marinara & Garlic Parmesan)

All of these are so good!  Seriously, they are good!  Yum!

I will say that the Chipotle is a bit hot.  So be aware of that, but otherwise...YES!!!

Just a couple misc things:

Fashion Head Phones

I don't know about the quality of these yet, but I'm going to use them as my workout headphones.  For a buck, I don't care if I sweat on them and ruin them.

Lanyard

I go through a lot of lanyards.  Such is my life.  :)

Pet Bowls

I had never seen the very large bowls at my Dollar Trees before.  I had to pick a couple up.  My pets are death on bowls.

Massive Dollar Tree Haul: Gartner Business Kit and More

Saturday, October 18, 2014

Okay so, this is a collective haul over several trips and 2 different stores.  Things just pile up when you don't have time to take pictures or shoot videos.  (This is what a DT addiction looks like, people. Haha!)

Let's get to the stuff!

Let's just start off with my best DT find yet!

Gartner Business Kit

OMG y'all!  I cannot believe I found this!  None of my stores have had any Gartner stuff.  Nothing.  Then, I found this (and its twin) tucked into a corner in the school section.  Oh yes!

This exact set is on sale at Office Depot for $19.99.  Score!

Paper Label Packs (white and kraft paper)

These are so pretty and very good quality.  They don't look like they come from the Dollar Tree at all.  DT has really been stepping up in the stationary department lately.

Notebooks and Journals

I just thought that these were adorable.  At the rate I've been mowing through journals, these should be in use very soon.  Yay!

Novelty Duct Tape

What's better than patterned duct tape?  Well...cute patterned duct tape for only a buck.  Yes!

Washi Tape

I found a couple new patterns that I had to grab.  That Paris one is divine!

Owl Stickers

These are so adorable and you get close to 100 per pack.

Shiny Stickers :D

Owls and skulls?!  Oh DT, you spoil me yet again!

Holiday Duct Tape

I am resisting the holiday spirit for the moment.  I honestly used to be a holiday nut.  I would decorate like crazy, wear santa hats, and the whole deal.  That all changed when I started working retail.  When I see holiday product displays, all I can think is that the awful customers are coming.  Seriously, people lose their minds around the holidays.  But...that's another story for another day.

Even with that, I couldn't resist this duct tape.  It is perfect for mailing holiday packages.

Halloween Solar Dancers

YES!  I found them!  I am seriously getting obsessed with these solar dancers from DT.  I want them all!

Jack O' Lantern LED Lights

You get ten lights on a single strand that runs on 2 AA batteries.  I thought they were neat.  I love them!

Witch Hat Hair Clips

I just thought that these were so fun!  I actually wore 2 in my hair, one on each side, like horns.  (Muahhahah! lol)

Forelli Hazelnut Spread

I had bought this before in a tub.  It is pretty good.  Not as good as Nutella, but very close.  For a dollar, I will forgive.  Yum!

Garlic Cloves in Brine

I needed some garlic.  So, I picked this up.  I'm kind of weary, because it is from China.  I'm always hesitant with any produce or meat item that has to travel that far.  (Don't get me started on some scary meat stories.)  We shall see how this does.

Veggie Stix

As you can see the bag is empty, because these are awesome!  Seriously, these are my new favorite DT snack food.  Non-GMO, all natural, and low sodium!  Yes!  Yes!  Yes!

Spray Hand Sanitizer

I got these to try a nail tutorial that I had seen months ago.  A youtuber (can't remember who exactly at the moment) did a water marble and spray this on top.  It left really neat small voids.  I had never seen the spray here in the States before, so I grabbed it.

Lisa Frank Hair Set

Rainbow and cheetah print, I can't wait to rock it!  Yes, me.  :)

Im Active No-Slip Hair Bands

I have such hair band rage.  I have yet to find one that actually stays on my head.  They always slide off within seconds.  These have little grippers.  So, I have some hope.

Kiss Nail Stripers

These were new at my store.  I don't really have any stripers in my collection.  So, I thought I would give them a try.

Sassy + Chic Nail Stickers

I finally found a pattern of these that I like!  My store never carries any of the cute ones.  I'm anxious to see how well these work.

LA Colors Polish Remover Wipes

I just wanted to try these.  I have seen reviews on polar opposite sides.  I hope they work and aren't totally crap.

LA Colors Nail Lacquer in Amethyst
LA Colors Color Craze in Lost Soul

I hadn't seen these at my store before.  I think that they are older ones that they found in the back and brought up.  I cannot wait to wear Lost Soul.  Just...eeeee!

Nail Art Glitter, Studs, Rhinestones, and Beads 4pk

They had a new display full of these 4 pk of nail art pots.  I don't really have any in my collection.  So, this is a great price to get started.  I got one of each of the 4 kinds.  They aren't really fall colors, but these things don't expire.  (Don't even get me started on expiration dates!  Haha!)

Dust Plug

I can't believe I paid a dollar for this.  I blame it on the cute.  It is a little plug that goes in your empty headphone jack and looks like a stinkin' cute grapefruit.  Just...I don't even know.

Screen Cleaning Wipes 20pk

I've seen people talk about these for a long while, but they had never been in stock at my stores.  Truth be told, I'll probably use them to clean my glasses more than my phone.  (My glasses are somehow always filthy.)

House Shoes

I needed some house shoes, but it is the wrong season for deals.  Seriously, it is so hard to find a pair for under 5 bucks.  For a dollar, I will be happy if these last for a month.  Oh kudos to DT for having them in my giant foot size.  :D

Tote Bag

Oh, this tote bag...  It was so pretty on the shelf.  It spoke to me.  BUT...

I didn't even make it to the truck before the strap broke.  Really?!  The straps are made out of the same material as the bag.  They are sewn poorly.  Just no...wasted my dollar.

Lanyards

What can I say?  I go through lanyards like crazy.  I wanted a more muted one and then a shiny and sparkly pink one.  (Couldn't be more fitting for me if I had tried.)

It's good to note, though, that the pink one is not glitter.  So, you will not turn into a human ornament while wearing it.  Seriously, I was rubbing that thing like I was trying to start a fire in the store.  Nothing came off.

Nails of The Day: Colormates Oz

Friday, October 3, 2014

I saw someone haul this polish on youtube and wanted to give it a try.

Base ColorColormates OZ

This was a one coater.  It went on smoothly and dries fast.  Unfortunately, it starting chipping off really badly the next day, and it stained my nails horribly.

Accent TopperFormula X by Sephora Psycho

This creates a neat effect when you can get it to cooperate.  It is very chunky and you really have fish for it in the bottle.

Dollar Tree Haul: A Quick, Little One

Not the biggest or most exciting haul, but I wanted to go ahead and make a post so I could put this crap up.  Haha!

Let's get started with some beauty stuff:

Dazzling White Teeth Whitening Pen

So confession time:  I don't have very white teeth.  I drink coffee by the bucket and tea any time I can. So, you can imagine the stains.

(Not that I care very much.  I find the white teeth obsession very odd and the product of clever subliminal messaging through ads...but that would bring me back to when I studied marketing in college and just no.  haha!  Marketing is very powerful though.)

I thought I would try it out.  I've seen a lot of good reviews, as well as, bad reviews.  For a dollar, I'll risk it.  Hopefully, it won't damage my enamel or anything.

LA Colors Polish Remover Pads

This is another one of those things that has reviews on polar opposite ends of the spectrum.

I hope this works well, but I'm quite doubtful.

Sassy + Chic Nail Art Pen

I found another one of these in a different color.  Some day, I will have a spare minute and be able to try them out.  Someday...

Various Nail Strips and Stickers

None of these are "never seen before" DT items, but I thought I would pick up a few to have on hand.  I am not usually that big into nail strips because the cost per mani is way way way higher than that of nail polish, but they are nice when you are in a hurry or traveling.

On to some other stuff!

Small Notebook

This notebook (and the ones with similar square designs) is such good quality.  The paper inside is not your typical notebook paper.  It is actually matte finish stationary paper.

Every time I spot one, I grab it.  I have been mowing through these.

Can and Bottle Opener

We needed one of these.  Nothing exciting.  Though, it does have a magnetic so you can stick it to the fridge.  :)

Cotton Rounds - 80pk

This needs no explanation.  Awesome deal!

Imperial Nuts - Energy Blend

I was so happy to find these!  Most of the nut mixes at DT say "may contain coconut," so I can't eat them!  (RAGE!  DESPAIR!)

These don't though!  And they are delicious!

Sugar in the Raw - 25 pkts

This is the best deal that you are going to find on large granular sugar besides an awesome coupon deal.  Yum!

Moving on!

Sewing Kit

I picked up one of these in pink in my last haul.  It is just such an awesome deal on hand sewing supplies that I picked one up in black for my dad.

Funnel - 3pk

This made me so happy!  I have been needing a funnel to use when I make my own homemade detergents and cleaners.

When I picked it up, two more funnels fell out.  SURPRISE 3 PACK!  Yes!  I was just tickled to death.  I seriously squealed in the store.  (Don't judge me...it was the highlight of my week.)

Glue Dots

I have been seeing people get these for ages.  Everyone says they are awesome.  We shall see.

Pink Tumbler

I was never into tumblers, but I keep seeing people using them.  So, being the brainwash victim that I am, I had to pick up this cute pink one.  (And I love it and will never be tumbler-less again!)

A just a couple more things!

Wood Shop Toys

I saw these craft toy kits and just had to pick up some for the nieces and nephews.

It comes with the wood pieces, glue, rubber bands, and instructions.  My store a few designs: airplane, car, helicopter, and a boat.  I just thought they were NEAT!

Dollar Tree Haul - Epic Fluffy Halloween Pens and Other Stuff

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Life has been absolutely mad and stressful lately.  I haven't been shopping quite as much as I usually do.  So the moment I got some time, I ran my happy butt out to Dollar Tree for some much needed bargain therapy.  :)

I didn't find a whole lot, because my stores are kind of meh lately.  I did find a few neat things, and I thought I would share with y'all.

Say hello to my new friends!

Halloween Fluffy Bird Friends

I was waiting in line to check out, and these lovely fluff balls caught my eye.  Y'all know I couldn't resist.  It was a like a match made in muppet destiny or some crap.

I will not be over these for awhile.

Halloween Flexible Ice Cube Trays

I am not actually using these for ice.  In my experience, these make really freezer burnt ice.

I am using these for molds.  I'm going to make embeds for soap and lotion bars with these.  I have also seen a lot of people on youtube make wax tarts with them.  For a dollar, you can't beat it.

Sewing Kit

This sucker comes with a set of 14 needles, a threader, a fabric measuring tape, a wee pair of scissors, 5 spools of thread, a thimble, a bunch of buttons, and some safety pins.  Like, holy crap on a stick!

Try buying all that for a buck at the craft store.  If you hand sew a lot like me, be on the lookout for this.  The bag comes in 4-5 different colors as well.

Compact Mirror

This has the normal mirror and the 2x magnified mirror in it.  I thought it was cute for a gift.

Hair Removal Wax Strips

I pray to the deities of unwanted hair that these work.  I have never found wax or strips that worked for my face at all or that weren't harsh.

We will see after I let my glorious moustache grow out a couple of days along with my fancy chin whiskers.  Teenage boys would be jealous of my face. haha!

Yep, we don't shy away from this stuff on my blog.  I don't live in a fantasy land where women are hairless, blemishless objects of  fantasy.  We embrace it all!  And if that bothers you, you need to grow up.

Color Shoe Laces

I just love these!  I have been waiting to find some cool shoe laces for cheap.  Now, my old converses will get an upgrade.

Fashion Cleaning Towels - 2pk

I had bought these with the hot pink zebra design in my last haul, and they turned out to be amazing cleaning towels.  I used just one to clean my whole kitchen.

I would buy them no matter the print, because they are very very good.

Coffee Mug

I seriously don't need anymore coffee mugs, but I had to have this one.  It is so stinkin' heavy duty.  It is like those old office cups from the 50s.  Like, it could be used as a bludgeoning weapon in dire times.  I just have a thing for well-made and sturdy things.  I don't know.

Snack Bags - 50pk

This is just a great deal on snacks.  I usually would wait to coupon these down, but my dad is running a festival booth for his church and they need like 1000 of these.  So, I'm fine with a buck.

Back Scratcher

This was like Christmas for me.  I have been wanting one of these forever, but the ones I find are always like $3-4.

So, no more rubbing my back on wall corners like an angry bear.  No more contorting my body to try to reach that spot.  No more tramatizing my hair brush with my dry as the desert, itchy back.  And no more inner dilemma when I get an itch while I'm eating and have to hold back using the fork.  YES!!!!!

Festival Stuff for My Dad (Below)

So, my dad is running a booth at our local fall festival to raise money for his church.  They are going to be selling craft items, baked goods, snack mixes, and who knows what else.  (It's the Clinch River Fall Festival for y'all in the greater Knoxville, TN area.)

When he started worrying about where to get their table set-up items, I pointed him to Dollar Tree.  I used to run a flea market booth for quite awhile, and that's honestly where I got all my supplies.

So, here we go:

Rectangular Platters

These are going to be great for displaying baked goods and whatnot.  Also they will keep the flavors separated.  With a festival as big as they are doing, keeping a customers visual interest is key.

I think these will work nice.

Round Platter Tray

Since we got the rectangular ones above, we changed it up with some rounded flower-shaped ones.  Also, they got red, white, and blue so that they could use them any time.

Plastic Picture Frames

I love these plastic frames for table signage.  They are cheap, easy to switch out, and look nice and clean on the table.  I used these for all my table signs at the flea market I used to do.

Price Stickers

These are just awesome and you get 420 assorted ones for a buck.  It saves so much time and aggravation when people constantly ask about prices.

Dollar Tree Haul - Seasonal, Nail Polish, and More

Saturday, September 13, 2014

It's that time yet again!!!

More pics, details, and even more below!!!

Let's get this started right with some seasonal crap!  :D

Giant Googly Eyes

These glow in the dark too!  The possibilities are endless!

(Let's be real.  I'll probably stick these on the fridge and give it a name.  Then, use it as a corny joke until no one in the house can take it.  Muahahahahah!!!!!)

Ribbon (3 yds each)

I usually stay far away from seasonal patterns, because I feel that lose value when you can only use them at certain times during the year.  I like these though.  I think they could be holiday or any time.

Solar Dancers!!!

I saw Trisha Fernandes (Her Channel) haul these on youtube, and I knew that I would find them and make them mine! She also just told me that they are supposed to be coming out with Halloween themed ones soon.  YES!

I could watch these scarecrows boogie all day.  Oh yeah!

Also, the flowers come in 3 different colored pots: yellow, red, and purple.

Luminessence Mason Jar Candles

Harvest Seasonal Spice, Sugar Cookie, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie

I have been seeing people haul these all over youtube.  So, I thought I'd try them out.

They seem to be heavily fragranced.   I just hope they have a good burning time, scent throw, and all that.

Hand Sanitizers

Cherry Vanilla, Cucumber Melon

Dollar Tree just keeps getting better and better hand sanitizers in.   These are too cute!  And y'all know that I'll be repurposing the caribiners too.

Hairbands (4pk)

I actually meant to include these in the stationary stuff picture, because that's what I use these for.  I use them to put around notebooks and novels that I carry in my purse to help keep them together and not get bent.

They are almost identical to the book bands you see at book store for WAY more.  (They are actually identical to the one I paid way too much for from the crazily overpriced Erin Condren, just without the logo.  Still miffed about that.)

Lip Smacker

I picked these up for gifts.  One is a regular stick (vanilla flavor) and the other is a liquid which I thought was interesting.  Dollar Tree is also killing it with chapsticks and lip balms lately.

Owl Manicure Sets

I have been searching for these for weeks!  They are finally mine, YES!

The pouch itself is a little owl and there's a lot of stuff in it: tweezers, nail clippers, scissors, and a metal file.

LA Colors Color Craze Polishes

In above picture order:

Electra
Crushin'
Bam!
Meadow
Scream
Nuclear Energy
Reckless
Sky High
Energy Source

I actually had time to look through the display.  That's always dangerous.  haha  I can't wait to try out the ones with the iridescent micro glitters.  Eeeee!

Bird Pen

I am so happy to find this little guy.  (I've named him Bert.  His fav color is pink.  No regrets!)

I used to love pens like this when I was in school, and I just love the looks from people that I get when I use it.  :D

Monthly Planner

Maybe the sad kitty on the front will motivate me to keep my schedules and what not.  Motivate me, sad kitty!

Mini Notebook

I just thought this notebook was so pretty.  So, I got it.  That's all.  :)

Stor It Cover-Ups

These are awesome.  They are little saran wrap covers that stretch over bowls for left overs, you get 20 for a buck.  Whoohoo!

Scotch Tape

Duct tape.  Cup Cakes.  It needs no other words.

Garbage Bags (4gal, 50pk)

Good price.  Not exciting.  Moving on...

Sugar in the Raw (25pk)

I was so happy to find this, because I just ran out of the Florida Crystals organic sugar that I always use.  I hope these are just as good, because they are cheap, cheap, cheap.

Brach's 1lb Party Mix

I bought 4 of these for my dad.  He loves party mix, but I've been having to Frankenstein my own from several candies at the ol' DT.  So, I was beyond elated (see, I didn't say happy) to find this.

Cat Collars

Once upon a time, when I was young and dumb (as opposed to old and dumb now), I bought fancy collars for my furry babies.  I have since figured out that they tear them up at the same rate as these $1 ones.  Lesson learned.  Wallet saved.
